Purchase Price Allocation (PPA) is a process the accounting standards requires whenever there is any business combination deal or investment in associate transaction. This is problematic and uncommon, and therefore always challenging even for a seasoned accountant. In addition, from strategic management perspective, PPA aids in bringing in-depth viewpoints and could be considered a test for M&A transactions carried out by businesses.
