We are a leading professional services organisation in Vietnam providing Audit, Tax, Advisory and Business Process Solutions services. We have a professional team of 12 partners and more than 380 professional staffs in offices located in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In order to meet the demand of our growing practices, we are looking for a qualified candidate to fill in a position of Manager supporting our Tax Services of Ho Chi Minh City office. Detailed tasks of and required qualifications for this position are as follows:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Client service 

  • Develop and maintain good and strong rapport with clients by gaining a clear understanding of client expectations and consistently delivering high standard of client service
  • Regularly attend meetings alongside with Directors and Partners, prepare meeting minutes and proactively follow up on agreed items or respond to clients’ queries when appropriate
  • Serve as a key point of contact on assigned engagements, address concerns or queries from internal and external clients, and coordinate with relevant parties to facilitate the timely completion of project deliverables.

Tax service

  • Provide day-to-day support to clients in relation to our provision of tax and corporate services and ensure timely and effective assistance
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, advisory memoranda, and other client deliverables, as well as review work prepared by junior team members to ensure quality and technical accuracy
  • For compliance works, prepare and review tax returns and related computations for at least the following types of taxes, including Personal Income Tax (PIT), Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Foreign Contractor Withholding Tax (FCT), and Value Added Tax (VAT), within agreed timelines, ensuring compliance obligations are delivered efficiently and with appropriate risk management 
  • Conduct technical tax research and prepare well-reasoned, technically supported analyses and recommendations to support in delivering ad-hoc projects such as tax planning, tax advisory, tax health check, tax due diligence, tax audit assistance, tax refund and others
  • Liaise and work with relevant tax and other regulatory authorities on behalf of clients during tax audit or inspection, application for rulings, certificates, licenses, etc.

Client take-on / risk management

  • Maintain an awareness of the Firm's risk management policies and procedures and ensure compliance with them in the performance of day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks by involving senior team members where appropriate and seeking guidance or technical advice on complex or high-risk matters
  • Take proactive steps to manage professional risks, including maintaining appropriate documentation, supporting work papers, and records of services provided to clients in accordance with the Firm’s quality control and compliance standards.

Technical competence

  • Demonstrates sufficient technical knowledge to effectively perform assigned responsibilities and deliver work of an appropriate quality standard
  • Address technical issues and challenges by proactively researching relevant regulations and guidance, seeking appropriate support when needed, and demonstrating a willingness to broaden technical knowledge and understand the range of issues that may arise to clients during service performance

People

  • Be an approachable and respected team member, demonstrating a proactive interest in the performance, development, and well-being of colleagues, while fostering a collaborative and positive working environment
  • Provide constructive input into performance evaluations and assignment appraisals for junior team members, and complete self-assessments, appraisal forms, and other required performance documentation accurately and within prescribed deadlines.

Operations and results

  • Monitor and manage personal time utilisation, ensuring time incurred is recorded accurately and performing analyses as required to support engagement management and operational efficiency
  • Manage work in progress effectively to support timely billing and achieve recoverability and profitability targets for assigned engagements.
  • Help in monitoring the process of invoicing and collections on assigned engagements, following up as appropriate to facilitate timely payment and minimise outstanding receivables and aged debtor balances.
  • Take ownership of individual financial performance objectives, working towards achieving utilisation, recoverability, billing, and other financial targets established by the Firm.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, finance or business is strongly preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 consecutive years working experience in consulting firms.
  • Have diversified knowledge and practical experiences regarding tax, labour, customs and licensing.
  • Fluency in English, both speaking and writing;
  • VTCA/CPA/ACCA/CPAA is preferable
  • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Good administration and secretarial skill
  • Good organisation and time management skill.
